Acom was founded in 1999 in Macerata as a mixed private-public company and started its activity of radiopharmaceuticals in 2004.

In the same year Acom supplied Macerata hospital with the first Positron Emission Tomography facility (PET/TC).

During these years Acom developed new radiopharmaceuticals such as Copper 64 and Iodine-124 produced on a 18Mev IBA cyclotron using an innovative compact solid target irradiation system (CRIS).

In collaboration with Washington University Saint Louis Center Acom is developing new systems for the synthesis of new molecules that is why Acom continually supports research of innovative solutions in cancer diagnostic and therapy.

To this day, Acom is one of the leading company in Europe to have the authorization to produce in GMP clinical trials radioisotopes: 64Cu,124I,18F-FCH,124IBCit

All Acom tracers and radiopharmaceuticals are used with the most advanced techniques in molecular imaging,such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET).

Acom Servizi srl

The lifetime of radiopharmaceuticals is very short. The isotope loses half of its activity every two hours, so solutions delivered to hospitals must be used within three to five hours of production. To deal with this short timeframe Acom spa founded Acom servizi srl in 2007.

Acom Milan srl

Acom Milan srl is founded in 2009 by through the acquisition of shares of Eckert & Ziegler F-Con Pharma Italia srl.

Acom Milan operates as distributor of radiopharmaceuticals in the North-West of Italy and its challenge is to to enlarge its business in radiopharmaceuticals production and in R&D.

Acom Milan operates through a co-management agreement with “Maggiore Mangiagalli and Regina Elena hospital” with the purpose to develop innovative techniques in the development and the production of new radiopharmaceuticals.

Sparkle srl

Sparkle S.r.l. is a private company founded in 2006. It took part in “POR puglia 2000-2006” public funding for Salento area intended for radiopharmaceuticals production, industrial research and a competitive R&D.

Sparkle is in the front line in the advanced research to develop new molecules used in the detection and treatment of numerous forms of cancer.

Sparkle strategy is to create an advanced production system of radiopharmaceuticals as Copper 64 and Iodine 124.

To increase Sparkle production capacity of these isotopes and increase safety of its personnel Sparkle has installed a solid target system on IBA cyclotron capable of loading and delivering multiple solid targets with a single setup.

One of Sparkle research projects is microfluidic development and new machines for therapy.

Regarding this latter, Sparkle is going to carry out the first experimentation about the fusion of Ciclo 18 Mev cyclotron and a linear accelerator with the aim to produce a protons beam.
